So much to be excited about right now!

- Getting my hair colour fixed this Sunday…super excited. Even better now that the stylist wants to trade for photos!

- Waiting on a big ol’ package from Vanessa of Octopus’s Graveyard. Can’t wait to see what hair flowers she has cooked up for me :)

- Getting my right arm finished next week. I’ve wanted this camera design for years and now am finally getting it done.

- Cutting my Bettie bangs back in tonight :)

- Viva is in like 4 bloody weeks!!

- Annnd I’ve got 6 publications coming out in the next few months!

You know what sucks? When you introduce an editor to a model and then they turn around and ask another photographer for images of her. Man, I feel like every time something great happens for me, it’s immediately followed by something really shitty.

Feel like I’m forever spinning my wheels…

Hearing all this Canada Post bashing is really starting to get to me. They are not on strike. The corporation has locked it’s employees out. My mother has been a CPC employee for almost 30yrs so I guess I’m a bit touchy about this stuff…

Yes I understand that mail is being held up and that people who rely on CP for shipping may be loosing money but this is a bigger picture kind of deal. The government involvement in the situation is pretty much signaling the beginning of the end of social benefits and security in Canada. Thank you, Mr. Harper.

A little rant…

Sorry but I don’t have any other outlet for this!!

I know this girl who, if she weren’t my co worker’s gf I would never even talk to. She drives me completely nuts, but that is another story…

She constantly is making fun of me/giving me a hard time for not dressing sexier. She makes dumb comments like “Mel, we can never see your boobs”. 

I have never, ever in my life made it a priority to look sexy or have men gawk at me. I just don’t give a shit. I want to look like I take pride in my appearance but having my tits out does not interest me. I don’t feel like I need male attention to validate my self confidence. I have always preferred that when people talk about me, they comment on my intelligence or talent, not how hot I am. 

I don’t know what my point is here but I just needed to get that off my chest…let the unfollowing commence!

Maybe it’s because I’m from a smaller city but man, I don’t understand it when people complain about big events/festivals…

What’s with all these kids in their early twenties who are completely covered in tattoos? I mean sleeves, hands, neck, throat, everything! Where is the fun in being completely covered by the time you’re 25yrs old???? 

I wanna still be getting tattooed well into my thirties. And I sure as shit didn’t get my chest done for my first tattoo! Maybe I’m old fashioned but coverage should take time and dedication..not a Visa Gold card.

I’d have to say that me seeing R+ in Montreal this May isn’t gonna happen. For me to fly there it is going to cost $400 plus the $100 concert ticket plus $100 (or more) for a hotel room. 

We are trying really hard to save for Viva Las Vegas next year and this would put a huge dent in that…fuck, being a responsible adult sucks!
